




Introduction
Society Development Center (SODEC) is a Non-Governmental Organization registered in Sankhuwasabha District Administration Office as of June 2000. It is an interdisciplinary and non-profit organization that focuses its program primarily in the sectors of socio-economic
empowerment of the rural poor along with its physical and institutional infrastructures. Simultaneously SODEC supports in the institutionalization of rural level organizations, and empowerment of people through raising awareness in the sectors such as health, education, forest management, environment, information, human rights, peace and harmony. Towards that end, it has brought together a team of devoted and diligent individuals with experiences in the different fields of development.
SODEC has an affiliation with Social Welfare Council, Inland Revenue Office, NGO Forum for Rural Energy and Environment Nepal, NGO Federation Nepal, and Peace Initiative Nepal.
The organization has been working with over 20,000 households across Sankhuwasava, Surkhet, Dailekh and Nuwakot Districts of Nepal since September 2000. Majority of the people it is serving are poor and excluded having food deficiency, and lack of access to services such as education, health, environment and forestry, safe drinking water, agriculture and others.

"Empowering Students: Awareness Classes on Sexual Violence, Cyber Crime, and Child Marriage"
Date 2080/09/24, Silichang Rural Municipality Ward No. 3 Sagarmatha Secondary School of Sankhuwasabha District, reducing child marriage and sexual violence to students of 3 schools including class 7 to 12, how do children become victims of violence through cyber crime? Conducting an awareness program on the subject. The total number of beneficiaries was 368. Out of which 203 girls were active participants of 165 boys.
"Breaking the Silence: Empowering Communities Through Gender Violence Awareness"
On 2080/08/15, 16-day awareness campaign against gender violence was conducted in the backward Kumal Basti of Khandbari Municipality Ward No. 9. Attendance of 99 people.
