On Mangsir 15, 2080 (Dec 1, 2023), SODEC marked the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with an awareness program in the marginalized Kumal community of Khandbari-9. A total of 99 local participants gathered to learn about combating gender discrimination, understanding legal rights, and promoting safety within rural households.

SODEC and Sabhapokhari Rural Municipality trained 30 lead coffee and macadamia farmers in Sankhuwasabha on producing organic compost and liquid manure using local resources.

On Poush 24, 2080 (Jan 9, 2024), an awareness program on reducing child marriage, sexual violence, and cybercrime risks was held at Sagarmatha Secondary School in Silichong-3, Sankhuwasabha. A total of 368 students (203 girls and 165 boys) from Grades 7 to 12 across three local schools participated.

On Magh 2, 2080 (Jan 16, 2024), a community education session was organized in Hatia, Bhotkhola Ward No. 3. Supported by the local Mothers' Group (Ama Samuha), the program engaged 90 local students and young participants to build social awareness, leadership, and community development skills.

On Kartik 2, 2080 (Oct 19, 2023), SODEC team members held the Silanyash (foundation stone-laying ceremony) for a new Safehouse building in Khandbari. The facility will provide emergency shelter and support for vulnerable individuals and survivors of violence.

SODEC participated in a provincial-level interactive program in Koshi Province for chief officials of Short-Term Women’s Service Centers for victims of violence. Organized by the Ministry of Social Development, the event brought together 14 shelter house chiefs and municipal vice presidents to review operational progress and reports.
