Unlocking Potential: Empowering Students Through Capacity Development Programmes in Silichong

Silichong, Sankhuwasabha — To nurture confidence, leadership, and active citizenship among rural youth, SODEC facilitated a two-day Capacity Development and Interactive Program (क्षमता विकास तालिम तथा अन्तरक्रिया कार्यक्रम) on Magh 16 and 17, 2080 (January 30–31, 2024) across Silichong Rural Municipality.

The program brought together village-level students and children to provide them with a supportive platform to develop essential life skills, express their ideas, and build self-assurance.

Building Confidence & Leadership Skills

In rural communities, young students often lack access to extra-curricular training that fosters public speaking and self-expression. This two-day interactive workshop was specifically structured to bridge that gap through engaging, participant-centered sessions.

Key Highlights of the Workshop:

  • Public Speaking & Communication: Interactive exercises designed to help children overcome stage fear, speak confidently into a microphone, and articulate their thoughts clearly.
  • Leadership & Teamwork: Group activities emphasizing collaboration, problem-solving, and creative thinking among village-level youth.
  • Student-Led Discussions: Facilitated interactive sessions (अन्तरक्रिया) allowing students to voice local challenges, discuss educational aspirations, and share their perspectives.

Empowering Rural Youth

The visible enthusiasm of the young participants highlighted the immense potential of students in remote municipalities. By organizing capacity development programs at the local level, SODEC continues its mission to empower children with the personal and social tools needed to succeed academically and grow into confident community leaders.
